DM

DM= Drum Major

DM is the most challenging yet exciting performer in the Pride of Broken Arrow. I want to be in that position. I attended a DM clininc yesterday and I did very well. I am practicing very hard, and I have aced the mixed-meter part of the audition, and working on the Star Spangled Banner (which is coming along quite well). I have to go through an interview also, and I think I can ace every question they throw at me, it's an interview though.

The audition is Tuesday. I can't wait. I only hope I make it. I pray that I make it.

Wish me luck!

Funny Story

"Alarm sounding" It's 6:10am and I get up for another day of school. Get in the bathroom and turn on the light plus heater. The circuit that it is on runs along with my parents bathroom. I am in there for 20 seconds(I didn't count, but you get the point.) and the circuit breaker breaks the power to my light plus heater and theirs. I get in the shower grumbling to myself, "he (dad) wasn't out of the shower like he normally is and I have to pay for it." I get out of the shower and get ready for school and for breakfast I have the infamous PopTarts (cherry) and I fix lunch. I have been lazy with lunch this week because I keep forgetting my lunchbox in the trunk of my car. My lunch? It was cheerios in a tupperware cup. I was going to buy a big milk and have cereal in the cup for lunch.

Ok, I am ready for school and I don't have trouble driving there even though some of the roads are flooding due to the excessive rains lately. I get there... no one's there. I wait for half and hour to see if anyone would show up. Nobody did. Turns out, no school for Broken Arrow Public School due to spring flooding. I wanted to go. I had to turn in a poetry portfolio I made with my poems to my english teacher today because tomorrow I am not going to be there due to state contest for wind ensemble. I am sitting here typing and realizing I am done for this blog right now and I need to study for the ACT coming up (gasp!) this Saturday. Ok, bye bye.

Give Us This Day- David Maslanka

yay another poem!

Sweet Coming

When I think of music I see my future,
But when I predict my future I see nothing.
I have not created my future,
I only know what I want to do.

Nothing is set in stone right now,
So my future is still changing and morphing.
I may want to be a police officer,
Or maybe I will be an entertainer.
My future is uncertain until it happens.

When I play my music,
I think about where it can bring me.
I create that music,
And I learn from my mistakes.

When I predict my future I see nothing,
Because I have not created my future,
But instead I have prepared for it.

My Poem

Wordbook Misprint?
Saxophone I love you so,
Saxophone you make me go.
Saxophone I play you well,
Saxophone I think you're swell.
Saxophone I looked you up,
Saxophone you are...
Cacophonous?
